Individual Therapy

At Jessica LaRosa Therapy, I offer individual therapy in person or virtual to help you work through difficult emotions, manage life transitions, and improve your overall well-being. Individual therapy is a process where you work through thoughts, feelings, and behaviors to become more aware and intentional in the ways you lead your life.I recognize that everyone faces unique challenges and life stressors and my approach to individual therapy is tailored to meet your specific needs and goals.

What is Individual Therapy?

Individual therapy is a one-on-one counseling session between you and a licensed therapist. It is a collaborative process designed to help you gain insight, develop coping strategies, and overcome obstacles that may be impacting your personal growth and happiness.

In individual therapy, we create a safe and private space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings, process past experiences (if needed), and work towards healing and growth. I use evidence-based techniques and a person-centered approach in a fluid and organic way to help clients work through challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and life transitions.

How Does Individual Therapy Work?

At Jessica LaRosa Therapy, I believe in a holistic approach to individual therapy. I take the time to get to know you and your unique needs. We work collaboratively to develop a treatment plan that aligns with your goals. My therapeutic modalities include:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): a structured approach to counseling that focuses on changing patterns of negative thoughts and behaviors that contribute to emotional distress.
  • Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT): a type of therapy that teaches skills to improve emotional regulation, interpersonal communication, and mindfulness.
  • Internal Family Systems (IFS): a type of psychotherapy that focuses on understanding and working with various parts of a person’s inner self. Developed by Dr. Richard Schwartz, IFS views individuals as having multiple inner parts, each with its own thoughts, feelings,and  behaviors. These parts often develop as a way to protect the person from emotional pain or trauma.The ultimate aim is to foster harmony and balance within the internal system, allowing individuals to live more authentically and functionally.

Each session typically lasts 45 – 60 minutes, and the number of sessions needed varies depending on symptoms and goals in treatment.

Couples Therapy

At Jessica LaRosa Therapy, I specialize in couples therapy to help partners cultivate healthier relationships, improve communication, and navigate frustrating communication. I teach couples how to communicate their frustrations in a structured way in order to minimize reactivity and mis-understanding. I understand that every relationship is unique, and I am committed to providing a safe and supportive space for couples to strengthen their bond and achieve effective communication and connection.

Whether you are dating, engaged, married, or in a long-term partnership, couples therapy can provide valuable guidance and tools to promote understanding and growth in your relationship.

At Jessica LaRosa Therapy, I work with couples at various stages of their relationship to address a wide range of concerns including communication issues, infidelity, trust issues, sexual dissatisfaction, blended family dynamics, and life transitions.

How Does Couples Therapy Work?

In couples therapy, I create a collaborative and non-judgmental space where couples are taught how to navigate their concerns/frustrations in a structured and safe way. We explore underlying dynamics, root causes of unconscious thoughts and behaviors and develop effective strategies for resolving conflicts. My approach integrates evidence-based therapeutic modalities proven to enhance relationships, including:

  • Imago Relationship Therapy: Based on the work of Harville Hendrix, P.hd.

Imago Relationship therapy is a structured technique that explores the childhood wounds and patterns that can influence adult relationships, helping partners develop greater empathy and understanding for each other. Key techniques in Imago therapy include mirroring, validation, and empathy which help partners feel heard, understood, and supported. The goal is to foster greater connections, empathy, and mutual growth within the relationship.

Intensives

At Jessica LaRosa Therapy, I offer intensive therapy sessions designed to provide focused and immersive treatment for individuals and couples. My intensives are an alternative to traditional therapy formats, providing a unique opportunity to accelerate healing and growth in a concentrated period of time (1.5-3 hours a week). Whether you are seeking individual therapy or couples therapy, my intensive programs can help you achieve significant progress in a shorter time frame.

What are Intensives?

Intensives are extended therapy sessions (1.5-3 hours) that typically span over multiple days or even a full week. They offer a concentrated and immersive therapeutic experience, allowing individuals or couples to delve deep into their healing journey, process emotions, and develop skills to overcome challenges. Intensives are particularly beneficial for those who prefer a more intensive and focused approach, or for those who are unable to commit to ongoing weekly sessions due to time constraints or geographical limitations.

  • Individual Intensives:

My individual intensives are tailored to address a wide range of concerns such as trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, and life transitions. By dedicating several consecutive hours to therapy 1-2 times a week, individuals have the opportunity to work through deep-seated issues, gain insight, and develop effective coping strategies at an accelerated pace. The structured and focused nature of individual intensives provides a therapeutic experience that is highly personalized and transformative.

  • Couples Intensives:

Couples intensives are designed to help partners address and resolve deep-rooted relational issues, improve communication, and strengthen their connection. Over the course of several days, couples engage in intensive therapy sessions that allow for a deeper exploration of their dynamics and patterns. Couples’ intensives provide an opportunity to rebuild trust, develop effective conflict resolution skills, and enhance emotional intimacy. The concentrated nature of couples intensives can facilitate significant breakthroughs and create a solid foundation for a healthier and more satisfying relationship.

Fees based on Therapeutic Hour:

  • 30 min-$90

  • 60 min-$180

  • 90 min-$270

  • 120 min-$360
